I hope it will be all ok ! Note that my pc motherboard is an Asus CM6830 a 2012 pc.ĭone !!! Yes I clone back my hard drive with the upgrade 1709 to my SSD and its done ! I will clone the hard drive back to my SSD and keep you informed. Pc and reboot but to my surprise it reopen with the 75% screen and continue to 100% ! After that the upgrade try to reboot but crash again so I shut down the pc and reboot and it open in windows and finished the upgrade !!! I’m out time now but The upgrade crashed at 75% of the second reboot like with the ssd. Good God ! I finally got the 1709 upgrade pass on my pc !!! I just clone my Samsung Pro ssd 850 256 Gb Sata-3 on a regular hard drive and launch the upgrade.

I've tried multiple flash drives - even one that was taken out of a sealed copy of Windows 10 Pro - only to always get an error about halfway through

I don't know if this is related or not, but I have never been able to install Windows using a flash drive. will the version of Windows that the MediaCreationTool gives me be 1709, or some other version? Cause if it's not 1709 then it would all be pointless. Hopefully someone will find a quick and easy way to bypass the issue.Īssuming I decide to do a clean install. However, on the ASUS site there are no Thunderbolt drivers or firmware downloads at all! The interface manufacturer tells me to install the latest firmware and drivers for the X299 Deluxe II's Thunderbolt. After a couple of days I got back detailed instructions for installing the ThunderboltEX 3 card! I replied that this wasn't helpful and why, and I'm still waiting to hear something else. The third person sent me a form to provide a detailed description of the problem, which I promptly filled out. I've "chatted" with three different people at ASUS, and they all assumed I was trying to use a ThunderboltEX 3 add-in card, which actuallly isn't compatible with this MB (no TB header). Trying to install the TB driver for my interface also results in "Installation failed".

When I try to update the driver for the "Base System Device", I get a Windows message saying that a driver for "Thunderbolt 15EB" was found, but it couldn't be installed "at this time". My audio interface also appears with an error triangle. Just finished the X299 Dark build and have installed all of the drivers online including the chipset and I can not figure out what the 'Other Devices - Performance Counter' thing is showing up in device manager. Following that, Win 10 shows a "Base System Device" with an error triangle. X299 Dark unknown 'Other Devices - Performance Counters' in device manager. I've enabled "Thunderbolt USB Support" in the BIOS. I've recently acquired a Thunderbolt equipped audio interface, and I'm trying to use it with my X299 Deluxe II.
